Peter Hook eyes Rock Hall performance amid New Order reunion talk

Peter Hook, former bassist of Joy Division and New Order, is in discussions to perform at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. He suggested Oasis could mediate a truce with his ex-bandmates for a potential reunion. The induction follows Joy Division and New Order's entry as a single act.

Peter Hook confirmed in a Billboard interview that he is speaking with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame producers about a performance at the upcoming ceremony. The event honors Joy Division and New Order jointly, after nominations in 2023, 2025, and 2026. Hook, who left New Order in 2007 following his time with Joy Division after Ian Curtis's death in 1980, plans to attend despite past tensions. He described the band's 2011 decision to continue without him as 'disgusting' and unforgivable, adding, 'I won’t be borrowing their ball, shall we say, for any kind of game.' He criticized their use of the New Order name as a 'travesty.'
