Remains of engineer Pablo Osorio Sánchez identified after Sinaloa kidnapping

The remains of civil engineer Pablo Osorio Sánchez were identified on July 1 after his disappearance on January 23 in Concordia, Sinaloa.

The body was recognized by his mother at the Centro Médico Forense Federal. Lawyers from the Centro de Derechos Humanos y Asesoría a Pueblos Indígenas A.C. confirmed the identification.

Osorio Sánchez, aged 26 and originally from Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca, was intercepted around 7:30 a.m. while on the phone with his partner. The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights granted precautionary measures on May 28.

The case is linked to the kidnapping of ten Vizla Silver miners on the same day. Only Antonio Esparza Yáñez remains missing. The wake is scheduled for July 4 and the mass for July 5 in Oaxaca.
