Rivers Cuomo posts 15 unreleased covers on YouTube

Rivers Cuomo surprised fans this weekend by uploading 15 previously unreleased song covers to his YouTube channel. The Weezer frontman offered new takes on hits from artists including Whitney Houston, Nirvana, and Dolly Parton.

The tracks appeared without warning as a private playlist titled “randum cuverz.” Among the selections are Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” Nirvana’s “Drain You,” Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” Green Day’s “When I Come Around,” Radiohead’s “Creep,” Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road,” Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” and Outkast’s “Hey Ya!” Some recordings date to 2018 and 2019, while others are more than 20 years old.
