Steelers assign jersey numbers to offseason Reserve/Future signings

The Pittsburgh Steelers have updated their roster with jersey numbers for players signed to Reserve/Future contracts during the offseason. These numbers will be worn starting at the team's voluntary veteran minicamp on April 20. Several players have prior experience with the organization.

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced jersey numbers for a group of offseason additions on Reserve/Future contracts, as listed on the team's media site. The assignments include No. 19 for Doneiko Slaughter (DB), No. 27 for A.T. Perry (WR), No. 31 for Daequan Hardy (CB), No. 45 for JJ Galbreath (TE), No. 48 for Jack Henderson (S), No. 57 for both Cal Adomitis (LS) and K.J. Henry (EDGE), No. 65 for Sataoa Laumea (OT), No. 68 for both Jahvaree Ritzie (DL) and Lorenzo Thompson (OT), No. 72 for Anthony Goodlow (DL), No. 78 for Aiden Williams (OG), No. 82 for John Rhys Plumlee (WR), No. 85 for Cole Burgess (WR), and No. 87 for Brandon Smith (WR). These players will debut the numbers during the voluntary veteran minicamp from April 20 through 23, followed by OTAs and minicamp after the draft, and training camp in July. Several have ties to Pittsburgh from recent seasons. Daequan Hardy, Cal Adomitis, and K.J. Henry joined the practice squad during 2025. Hardy is vying for a backup nickel role, while Adomitis challenges Christian Kuntz for the long snapper position under new special teams coordinator Danny Crossman. JJ Galbreath and Aiden Williams attended last year's training camp, and John Rhys Plumlee impressed in 2024 summer practices with his versatility at quarterback, wide receiver, and special teams before stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks. A.T. Perry stands out among the group after scoring four touchdowns as a rookie with the New Orleans Saints, though he did not play in 2025. Most of these players changed numbers from prior stops, such as Galbreath's previous No. 87 and Plumlee's No. 18. Their path to the 53-man roster likely runs through the practice squad, with free-agent signings and trade acquisitions already assigned numbers.
