Sustainability becomes key strategy in Latin American live events

Promoters in Chile and Colombia are integrating environmental criteria into operations to cut costs and meet regulations.

An analysis by IQ Magazine shows that live entertainment companies in Latin America are increasingly adopting ESG criteria. This responds to inflation, rising production costs and stricter regulations.

Chilean promoter Lotus recycled 47 tons of materials in the two most recent editions of its Rock & Recycle program. It raised its waste recovery rate from 11.5 percent in 2025 to 14.5 percent in 2026 and cut total waste generation by 24.5 percent.

In Bogotá, Vive Claro Distrito Cultural became the first venue in Colombia to obtain Gold certification under the Global Zero Waste standard. It implemented waste sorting systems for events with over 40,000 attendees and electronic waste management programs.
