Cali rolls out responsible drinking campaign during World Cup

Cali’s Public Health Secretariat will roll out the ‘Me Voy de Rumba Pero NO me Derrumbo’ campaign at World Cup 2026 match screenings.

The initiative aims to promote responsible alcohol consumption and reduce health and coexistence risks during the matches, especially those involving the Colombia national team. The strategy is part of the District Mental Health Policy and will involve psychosocial staff offering educational and recreational activities at venues enabled by the mayor’s office. Key recommendations from the 8C methodology include maintaining consistency in liquor type, choosing a designated driver, staying with trusted company, and regulating quantity and timing of consumption. The Public Health Secretariat and the Security and Justice Secretariat will step up inspection operations at night establishments and liquor outlets.
