John Shuster highlighted the welcoming atmosphere, saying, “Fans in the stands, they were incredible,” while teammate Christopher Plys praised local eatery Rosa’s Mexican Cafe and the organizing committee for making everyone feel at home. Ross Whyte of Scotland was impressed by the crowd turnout, especially for U.S. games, stating, “Ogden’s been amazing.” Norwegian vice skip Wilhelm Naess called the facility top-notch and received the Collie Campbell Award for sportsmanship, voted by competitors for embodying fair play and friendship. “It’s harder to appreciate everything when things are going sideways, but just try to enjoy the moment no matter what,” Naess said. During the gold-medal game, 2002 Olympic gold medalist Pal Trulsen of Norway was inducted into the World Curling Hall of Fame by Jill Officer, a 2014 Olympic champion. Officer praised Trulsen’s legacy in coaching and building nine curling facilities in Norway since 2010. Trulsen humbly shared the honor with his 2002 teammates.
