The New York Rangers have traded Swedish forward Adam Edström to the Nashville Predators. The deal includes forward Massimo Rizzo and a fifth-round pick going to New York. Edström, 25, had played 35 games for the Rangers in the past season.
The trade was announced by the Rangers on June 27. Edström recorded three goals and two assists in 35 games during the 2025-26 season. Across 97 NHL games since his debut in 2023-24, he has tallied 10 goals and 16 points.
In the 2024-25 season Edström set career highs with five goals and nine points. He ranked fifth among Rangers forwards in blocked shots and sixth in hits. The 201-centimeter forward was originally selected by New York in the sixth round, 161st overall, in the 2019 NHL draft.
Before moving to North America, Edström played for Rögle BK in the SHL, where he posted 48 points in 189 games and helped the team win the Champions Hockey League in 2021-22. He will now continue his NHL career with Nashville.
