Forward Victor Ejdsell has rejoined Färjestad BK after two seasons in Switzerland. The 30-year-old signed a contract until 2029, aiming to help the team reclaim elite status in the SHL. Ejdsell expressed excitement about the high ambitions at the club.
Färjestad BK confirmed on Friday that Victor Ejdsell is returning to the club in Karlstad. The experienced forward spent the last two seasons with Bern in Switzerland, where he recorded 29 points—13 goals and 16 assists—in 37 games last season. Ejdsell, who won the SM-guld with Färjestad in 2022, followed the team's progress closely during his absence abroad. He has inked a three-year deal running until 2029. Ejdsell told the club's website in a video interview: 'We have a job to do here, we have high ambitions and high goals. That's why I want to be here. It's a bit nerve-wracking, there's some pressure for sure, but it's also very special to play for this club.' He highlighted personal growth from his time overseas. 'I've learned a tremendous amount about myself,' Ejdsell said. 'What I need to be ready every night, how to take care of my body to feel as fresh as possible. I've taken huge steps there, which has made me feel much better and raised my baseline.' Sport director Rickard Wallin welcomed the signing. 'We need help to re-establish ourselves in the absolute SHL elite,' Wallin said. 'Victor is definitely in the SHL elite at his best. We hope and believe he can help us both on and off the ice with his great commitment and good humor.'
