Longtime indie rock band Teenage Fanclub has announced its new album Do Not Dare to Dream, set for release on October 9 via Merge Records. The project follows 2023's Nothing Lasts Forever and includes the lead single "Day in the Sun." The album was recorded at Black Bay Studios on the remote Scottish island of Great Bernera.
The band shared the news on July 23. Norman Blake commented on the title in a statement, saying those "dare to dream" sentiments are kind of ridiculous and that he does not think the world works that way.
Raymond McGinley reflected on the group's history, noting it has been a while since they started doing this thing they do, but to them it feels like no time at all.
The album features 10 tracks, including "There Was You," "Tomorrow People," "Over and Over," and the single "Day in the Sun." It marks another chapter for the Scottish indie rock veterans.
