Telangana conducts major IAS reshuffle in February 2026

On February 25, 2026, the Telangana government issued orders for a large-scale transfer of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, impacting key departments and district administrations. This reshuffle involves senior positions and aims to reassign roles for better governance.

Sanjay Kumar has been moved from the Information Technology and Industries department to serve as Special Chief Secretary for the Panchayat Raj & Rural Development department, replacing N. Sridhar. N. Sridhar now holds the position of Secretary for the IT and Industries Department while retaining full additional charge (FAC) as Principal Secretary of Mines and Geology.

Rahul Bojja, previously in the Irrigation and Command Area Development (CAD) department, has been appointed as Principal Secretary (Political) in the General Administration Department and given FAC as Principal Secretary for BC Welfare Department. E. Sridhar replaces him as Secretary for Irrigation and CAD.

Other notable changes include Sabyasachi Ghosh's re-designation as Special Chief Secretary for Implementation of Flagship Welfare & Developmental Schemes and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). M. Dana Kishore has taken FAC as Special Chief Secretary (Disaster Management) in the Revenue Department after Arvind Kumar's transfer.

Gaurav Uppal has been shifted from Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi to Secretary for Finance & Planning Department, with FAC as Vice-Chairperson of TGRAC and Managing Director of TGMSIDC. Adwait Kumar Singh is now Special Secretary (Coordination-GoI Projects & CSS) at Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi.

In the power sector, Jitesh V. Patil is the new Chairman and Managing Director of TGSPDCL, and Md. Musharraf Ali Faruqui has been posted as CMD of the third DISCOM (New). M. Hanumantha Rao, former Yadadri Collector, is now Director of Endowments with FAC as Special Officer for Godavari Pushkaralu. Pamela Satpathy has been appointed Special Commissioner for Labour.

The reshuffle extends to district collectors, with Chitra Mishra posted to Karimnagar, Deepak Tewari to Vikarabad, Ankit to Bhadradri Kothagudem, Chahat Bajpai to Hanamkonda (with FAC as GWMC Commissioner), Khushboo Gupta to Mahabubnagar, Garima Agrawal to Rajanna Sircilla, Prateek Jain to Narayanpet, and Rizwanbasha Shaik to Jogulamba Gadwal.

Additional postings include IAS and SCS officers as Additional Collectors (Local Bodies) in various districts, Manda Makarandu and Parmar Pinkeshkumar Lalitkumar as Zonal Commissioners in GHMC, and changes in Prajavani, BC Welfare institutions, and cooperative departments.
