Tesla launches operations in Latvia and Uruguay

Tesla opened new markets in Latvia and Uruguay this week with back-to-back announcements. The moves complete the company's Baltic expansion and mark its third entry in South America.

Tesla announced its Latvia launch on July 17. The company will open a pop-up store at the Spice shopping center in Riga on August 21. Customers can already configure and order Model 3 and Model Y vehicles online, with deliveries expected from September to November.

In Uruguay, Tesla held an official presentation on July 17 after Elon Musk posted that the company is now in the country. The automaker established Tesla Uruguay SAS and will sell the Model 3 and Model Y directly, with vehicles imported from Gigafactory Shanghai.

The Latvia entry completes Tesla's presence across all three Baltic states following earlier launches in Lithuania and Estonia. Uruguay becomes the company's third South American market after Chile and Colombia.

Both markets feature growing EV adoption supported by government incentives and renewable energy infrastructure. Tesla plans to build on existing Supercharger networks in each location.
