A 20-year-old Texas woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated robbery in a 2024 home invasion that left a man dead.
Julie Marie Lopez entered the plea in connection with the death of 20-year-old Isaiah Guevara. The incident took place in late October 2024 at an apartment complex in San Antonio.
The Bexar County District Attorney's Office announced the sentencing on Thursday. Judge Christine Del Prado of the 227th Criminal District Court handed down the term and credited Lopez with 499 days already served in pretrial detention.
Lopez was initially charged with murder and aggravated robbery. A separate man charged in the case had his charges dropped for lack of evidence earlier this year.
The victim's aunt told KSAT that the reduction from a murder charge to robbery was upsetting and that the family plans to continue attending hearings.
