The group has endured days and nights exposed to relentless rain amid heavy downpours affecting parts of Limpopo. The South African Weather Service has issued a Level 9 warning for severe weather in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces, highlighting the risks of such conditions.
Emergency services, including police and medical teams, have been alerted to the situation. A planned police helicopter rescue was reportedly called off because of poor weather. This incident underscores the dangers posed by the ongoing heavy rainfall in the region, which has led to widespread flooding concerns.
