Sweden's national hockey team, Tre Kronor, has announced its roster for the upcoming Swiss Hockey Games in Zürich from December 11 to 14. Notable absences include stars Nicklas Bäckström and Oscar Lindberg, with coach Sam Hallam emphasizing continuity and experience. The squad features 17 players from the recent Finland Hockey Games victory.

The Swedish Ice Hockey Association unveiled the Tre Kronor roster on Wednesday, selecting a mix of SHL and Swiss league players for the international tournament. Forbundskapten Sam Hallam opted for stability, retaining 17 members from the squad that won the Finland Hockey Games in November. The team averages a high level of experience, including two 20-year-olds and three recent debutants, focusing on two-way play and physicality.

Prominent omissions include Brynäs forward Nicklas Bäckström, who has 20 points in 24 SHL games this season, and Skellefteå's Oscar Lindberg, the league's leading scorer.

No players from Djurgården, currently fifth in the SHL, made the cut.
