Sixteen students from Universitas Indonesia's Faculty of Law (FH UI) are alleged to have committed verbal sexual harassment in a group chat, targeting female students and seven female lecturers. The case went viral on social media since April 12, 2026, prompting a campus investigation. Victims' lawyer demands permanent dismissal of the perpetrators.
The alleged verbal sexual harassment by 16 FH UI students originated from a Line group chat initially for new student administrative purposes. Conversations shifted to sexually suggestive comments degrading women, including female students and lecturers. Screenshots spread widely on social media starting Sunday, April 12, 2026, after posting by @sampahfhui on X.
A forum was held at FH UI Auditorium on Monday, April 13, 2026, involving the students. On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Pusgiwa UI, victims' lawyer Timotius Rajagukguk said he represents 20 student victims plus seven female lecturers. He demands permanent dropout (DO) sanctions as perpetrators endanger the campus environment.
"Korban yang saya wakili terdapat 20 orang. Itu baru yang saya wakili, semuanya mahasiswa. Dari unsur dosen terakhir saya dengar ada tujuh orang," Timotius said.
BEM FH UI chair Anandaku Dimas Rumi noted the suspects were not seen on campus on April 14. BEM UI vice chair Fathimah Azzahra said UI rector pledges full attention. UI spokesperson Erwin Agustian Panigoro affirmed a victim-centered investigation by Satgas PPK, with evidence verification ongoing.
One named figure, Erian Khalis Keona Ezra Pangestu, initially denied involvement despite being linked to the group.
