Alavés and Valencia draw goalless in a lackluster match

Deportivo Alavés and Valencia CF ended in a 0-0 draw in a LaLiga match characterized by a lack of accuracy in front of goal. Despite an intense start, neither team converted their chances, leaving Alavés frustrated at missing a chance to climb into European spots. Valencia, solid in defense, earned a valuable point without creating threats in the second half.

The match, played at Mendizorroza Stadium, started at a frantic pace. In the opening seconds, Valencia's Javi Guerra found himself one-on-one with Alavés goalkeeper Antonio Sivera after a defensive blunder, but chose to pass to Arnaut Danjuma, who arrived awkwardly and watched the ball trickle along the goal line before being cleared by the home defense.

After the early scare, Alavés, under Eduardo Coudet, seized control with intense high pressing on Valencia's build-up, led by Rubén Baraja. Clear chances remained scarce: Lucas Boyé fired over the bar from inside the box, and the visiting goalkeeper made key interventions. Danjuma created Valencia's best moments with a long-range shot and dangerous runs, but Alavés' offensive passivity limited support.

The second half saw Alavés pressing forward without much threat until the 50th minute, when Toni Martínez headed a close-range effort from Rebbach's cross, saved by the Valencia keeper and turned for a corner. Valencia sat deep, relying on ineffective counters. Coudet made substitutions around the midpoint: Guridi, Denis Suárez, and Carles Aleñá entered to inject energy, but Baraja's defense held firm.

The clearest chance came late: Denis Suárez's curling cross struck the post, frustrating the home crowd. The 0-0 draw left Alavés without a home win and further from European contention, while Valencia claimed a gritty point, prolonging their away winless streak in LaLiga.
