The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Body (BPJPH) has officially opened a quota of 1.35 million Free Halal Certificates (SEHATI) for 2026, specifically for micro and small business operators (UMK) across Indonesia. The announcement was made by BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan in Jakarta on Monday, January 5, 2026.

"Micro and small business operators can now register their products again for free halal certification using the quota of 1.35 million free halal certificates we have prepared for this year," said Haikal.

This initiative aims to ensure public protection regarding the availability of halal products and to provide ease for UMK in obtaining halal certification. As a result, UMK products are expected to become more competitive in both domestic and global markets. Haikal emphasized that this step is a tangible government affirmation to strengthen the UMK sector, which plays a crucial role in the national economy.

The free halal certificates are facilitated through a self-declare scheme with halal certification mentoring. "For UMK that meet the self-declare halal certification criteria, please hurry to make the most of this opportunity," stated Haikal.

The opening of this quota aligns with the mandatory halal certification implementation, aimed at enhancing national economic competitiveness through quality halal products.
