The sci-fi drama The Boroughs achieved strong viewership on Netflix despite its cancellation. Nielsen data placed the eight-episode season at No. 2 among streaming originals for the week of May 18-24.
Netflix canceled The Boroughs less than 24 hours before the latest rankings were released. The Duffer Brothers-produced series drew 1.2 billion minutes viewed during its first week after the May 21 premiere.
It finished behind fellow Netflix drama Nemesis, which recorded 1.31 billion minutes viewed. Prime Video's The Boys placed third with 1.07 billion minutes viewed.
Nielsen noted that 57 percent of The Boroughs audience was age 50 or older. The show also appeared at No. 2 on the overall top 10 chart for that week.
