CD Projekt Red co-CEO admits losing some fans' faith

CD Projekt Red joint CEO Michał Nowakowski said the studio has indefinitely lost the faith of some fans following the troubled 2020 launch of Cyberpunk 2077.

Nowakowski spoke to Edge's Knowledge newsletter about the studio's efforts to recover its reputation. He described the period after launch as heartbreaking and noted that the company's standing had been its biggest asset.

He said he is not fully convinced the studio has completed its redemption arc. Nowakowski added that some fans may never return, calling that outcome fair, while expressing hope for recovery with The Witcher 4 or future projects.

The studio now focuses on a ten-year plan that avoids releasing major titles every year. After the Phantom Liberty expansion, 95 percent of more than 7,000 reviews were positive.
