Constitutional Protection classifies 28,000 AfD members as right-wing extremists

The Verfassungsschutz has assigned nearly 40 percent of AfD members to the right-wing extremist potential. At the same time the agency reports a sharp rise in left-wing extremist crimes.

On 30 June 2026 the Verfassungsschutz announced that 28,000 AfD members have been classified as right-wing extremists.

The agency thereby assigns nearly 40 percent of the party’s members to the right-wing extremist potential.

At the same time it records a massive increase in left-wing extremist crimes.
