Cristián de la Fuente reports motorcycle theft outside theater

Chilean actor Cristián de la Fuente had his motorcycle stolen outside a Mexico City theater after rehearsing for the play Perfume de Gardenia. He accused police of failing to help catch the thieves despite seeing them take the vehicle. Friend Julio Camejo assisted him in filing a formal report.

Cristián de la Fuente, actor in the play Perfume de Gardenia, recounted the theft of his motorcycle around 9 PM outside the theater where he was rehearsing. He left the vehicle with on-site caretakers, whom he paid and gave the keys to, but upon leaving, learned it was gone. One man, Joaquín, told him: “ay, no jefe, me descuidé” (Boss, I got careless). The thieves moved the bike behind a truck to evade C4 cameras and walked it away without starting it, as seen in footage. Two men were captured on several cameras, from the theater to a traffic light. De la Fuente expressed frustration: “Es algo que da impotencia, porque además se la dejé acá a los muchachos que cuidan, les di las llaves, les pago para que la cuiden y me dicen, ‘ay, no jefe, me descuidé’” (It's something that gives impotence, because I left it with the guys who watch, gave them the keys, pay them to watch it and they say, ‘oh no boss, I got careless’). On-site police saw the two men pushing the bike but a patrol car failed to catch them. They advised calling 911, which initially tracked it but then lost the trail. They even suggested not filing a report, saying they'd find the bike. Ultimately, with help from friend actor Julio Camejo, who connected him with advisors and accompanied him, he filed the report at a prosecutor's office at 1 AM. The attendant confirmed it was the right step.
