Hurricane Melissa struck eastern Cuba, causing severe floods in Granma province. According to local media reports, nearly 3,000 people were rescued through 413 operations carried out by the Cuban army.

In response, members of the Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS) of Cuba, along with the Oralitura Habana and Agranel projects, released a musical video on social media to support those affected in the eastern region. This cultural gesture aims to show solidarity with the disaster victims.

Additionally, a shipment of essential medical supplies from the UN arrived at Jose Marti International Airport in Havana on November 1, 2025, intended to aid more than 90,000 people impacted by the hurricane. Meanwhile, Cubans living in Mexico have begun collecting food and medicine to send to their homeland, amid damage that is still under assessment.

These efforts underscore the coordinated response to the crisis, with the government and international community collaborating to mitigate the hurricane's effects in eastern Cuba.
