Egypt has completed the final version of its Fourth National Communication on climate change and its First Biennial Transparency Report. The reports detail greenhouse gas emissions from 2016 and 2017 along with mitigation and adaptation measures. Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad said the documents reflect cooperation across government and research bodies. The project received funding from the Global Environment Facility and support from the United Nations Development Programme. Awad stated that the reports will aid sustainable development planning and attract green investment. Work continues on the Third Nationally Determined Contributions along with the next transparency report and Fifth National Communication.
