Elderly woman killed with alcohol en route to religious study

An elderly woman named Edah (64) met a tragic end after being force-fed alcohol by three perpetrators pretending to offer her a ride. Her jewelry was stolen, and her body was found in bushes in Cirebon. Police have arrested two suspects, with one still at large.

Edah, a 64-year-old woman from Ciamsi Village, Ciamis District, Ciamis Regency, met a heartbreaking fate. She was standing by the roadside in Ciamis, on her way to a religious study, when three perpetrators in a car approached and pretended to offer her a lift to the venue.

Unsuspecting, Edah accepted and got into the vehicle. “The victim agreed to join and got into the car,” said Cirebon Police Chief Kombes Pol Sumarni on Saturday (29/11/2025). But as the car passed through a quiet road, the perpetrators grabbed her hands and force-fed her prepared ciu liquor.

As a result, Edah suffered convulsions, lost consciousness, and died inside the car. The perpetrators then dumped her body in bushes along the Pantura ByPass Road, Arjawinangun Village, Arjawinangun District, Cirebon Regency. The body was discovered by locals on November 7, 2025.

Cirebon Police have arrested two of the three suspects. The third remains at large. The case is classified as murder and violent theft, highlighting dangers to the elderly in remote areas.
