Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed conceived the Gebata for Generation Project to boost Ethiopia's tourism sector. The initiative promotes natural cultural and historical assets worldwide.
The project follows earlier Gebata for Sheger work in Addis Ababa and Gebata for Country efforts across regions. Government the public diaspora communities and investors combined finance and expertise.
Haro Dandi Lodge was built at Dendi Volcanic Lake. Logo Lake Resort and Arba Minch Conference Resort were completed. Work advanced on the Jijiga project in Somali Region and on turning the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam artificial lake into a tourist site.
Jimma and Southwest Ethiopia are being developed with eco lodges. Geralta Rock Churches and landscape were connected by infrastructure. The projects created jobs for local youth.
