On February 13, 2018, in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian National Electoral Board announced the creation of a national information agreement platform to prevent false information from negatively affecting the election process. Board spokesperson Melatworeq Haile stated that the seventh general election preparations are focused on ensuring transparency, fairness, and democracy while this platform is being set up.
