Police spokesperson Mats Eriksson states: "The damage we have documented so far is a broken window pane. We are trying to figure out if it exploded inside the stairwell or outside the door." He adds that the stairwell is smoke-filled but does not appear to be on fire: "It is smoke-filled in the stairwell but it does not seem to be burning."
A large police operation is underway at the scene, involving several patrols, a helicopter, police dogs, and the national bomb squad. The rescue service has also been alerted to the area. Police are searching for one or more perpetrators and have checked several people in the vicinity, but no one has been arrested.
