Jack Antonoff slams AI music creators as godless whores

Jack Antonoff publicly criticized musicians who use artificial intelligence to create songs. The Bleachers frontman posted a note on Instagram on May 13 that described AI-assisted work as a betrayal of the creative process.

Antonoff called those who embrace the technology “godless whores” and urged them to “drive right off that cliff.” He described traditional music making as an “ancient ritual” that involves writing, recording, and performing live with a band. In his view, attempts to optimize or speed up that process miss the point entirely. He added that the new artists he knows remain focused on work that “comes from within.”
