The Baltimore Orioles have activated infielder Jackson Holliday from the 10-day injured list ahead of their series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. The move comes after Holliday recovered from right hamate surgery performed in February following an injury sustained during batting practice.
Holliday joined the team in St. Petersburg on Monday and was reinstated minutes before first pitch at Tropicana Field. He was available off the bench but did not start the game. Catcher Maverick Handley was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding roster move.
This activation marks the end of Holliday's recovery from the broken hamate bone in his right hand that sidelined him for the start of the 2026 season and Opening Day. Orioles officials had previously indicated the injury was not expected to have long-term effects.
