Actor Jennifer English has withdrawn from voicing the protagonist in the upcoming action game Tides of Annihilation. Eclipse Glow Games announced the change on July 17 due to her personal health reasons. She will remain involved in an advisory capacity.
The studio revealed that English, known for roles in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, informed the team in June that she could no longer continue as Gwendolyn. Eclipse Glow Games stated it respected her decision to prioritize well-being and has secured a replacement with her assistance.
The new actor will feature in a hands-on version of the game shown at Gamescom 2026 in August. Tides of Annihilation is an urban fantasy title drawing on Arthurian legend, set in modern-day London.
English posted her own statement on Instagram on July 18. She explained the need to slow down and focus on her mental and physical health after reassessing commitments.
