AUGUSTA, Ga. — Justin Rose birdied the par-4 ninth, par-4 tenth and par-4 11th holes on Friday, playing the demanding stretch in nine shots during his second-round 69. Three under par on the par-72 layout, Rose stands at five under overall entering the weekend, placing him in contention once more at Augusta National. Last year, he lost to Rory McIlroy in a playoff after leading late into Sunday.
