"Fortunately, squeaked through the goalie and barely got it across the line. Found a way."

Mitch Marner extended the lead to 3-1 at 7:02 with a wraparound goal, ending an 11-game drought. Hertl added his second on a power play at 12:38, redirecting Marner's slap shot to make it 4-1.

Lindbom, a seventh-round pick (No. 222) in the 2021 NHL Draft, improved to 1-4-2 with a 3.14 goals-against average and .870 save percentage. "He’s a great kid," Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said. "He works hard, has a great future."

Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 20 shots for San Jose. Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky noted, “Effort was good. We competed hard. There are obviously some things in our [defense], some detail stuff."

Mark Stone earned an assist on Marner's goal, extending his point streak to nine games (4 goals, 12 assists). Vegas coach Cassidy praised the Sharks: “San Jose, give them credit, they don’t quit. They’re not going anywhere. They played good hockey for the last month and a half.”
