Lindbom earns first NHL win as Golden Knights beat Sharks 4-3

Carl Lindbom made 18 saves for his first NHL victory, helping the Vegas Golden Knights secure a 4-3 win against the San Jose Sharks on November 29, 2025, at T-Mobile Arena. Tomas Hertl scored twice for Vegas, which snapped a four-game losing streak. Will Smith tallied two goals for the Sharks in the tight contest.

The Vegas Golden Knights hosted the San Jose Sharks at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in a Pacific Division matchup. Vegas, coming off a 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens, entered with an 11-6-8 record and third place in the Pacific. The Sharks, fresh from a 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday, held a 12-11-3 mark.

The game started with San Jose taking a 1-0 lead at 7:34 of the first period. Will Smith scored on a stretch pass from Tyler Toffoli, his shot deflecting off Shea Theodore past Lindbom.

Vegas tied it 1-1 at 16:13 when Tomas Hertl capitalized on a loose puck in the slot, whipping a wrister blocker side. "I always like to pass, but I always get it from my coaches and my family. They say, ‘You have to shoot more,’" Hertl said. "You never score if you don’t shoot a lot of the time."

In the second period, Colton Sissons gave Vegas a 2-1 edge at 5:36, poking in a rebound on a 4-on-1 rush with Keegan Kolesar. "Just made a good hard play coming out of our end, and ‘Koley’ and I had a 2-on-1 from basically the top of the circles," Sissons said. "Fortunately, squeaked through the goalie and barely got it across the line. Found a way."

Mitch Marner extended the lead to 3-1 at 7:02 with a wraparound goal, ending an 11-game drought. Hertl added his second on a power play at 12:38, redirecting Marner's slap shot to make it 4-1.

The Sharks rallied late in the second. Smith scored his second on a power play at 14:40, assisted by Macklin Celebrini on his 100th NHL point, cutting it to 4-2. William Eklund brought San Jose within one at 19:35, sliding a backhand through Lindbom's five-hole on a breakaway.

Lindbom, a seventh-round pick (No. 222) in the 2021 NHL Draft, improved to 1-4-2 with a 3.14 goals-against average and .870 save percentage. "He’s a great kid," Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said. "He works hard, has a great future."

Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 20 shots for San Jose. Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky noted, “Effort was good. We competed hard. There are obviously some things in our [defense], some detail stuff."

Mark Stone earned an assist on Marner's goal, extending his point streak to nine games (4 goals, 12 assists). Vegas coach Cassidy praised the Sharks: “San Jose, give them credit, they don’t quit. They’re not going anywhere. They played good hockey for the last month and a half.”
