A middle-aged man was shot by police in Storvik in Sandviken municipality on Sunday. He was hit in the lower body and taken to hospital while conscious.
Police confirmed the alarm came in at 18:49. The man was arrested on suspicion of a crime after the incident.
The involved officers have been taken out of external service. The investigation is led by a prosecutor and the police's special investigations department.
Press spokesperson Wayne Seretis said the man's current status is unknown. He added that it is too early to determine the crime classification.
