Max Verstappen will make his first appearance in the Nurburgring 24 Hours this weekend, becoming the latest Formula 1 driver to compete in the endurance event at the Nordschleife.
Verstappen joins more than 30 other F1 drivers who have raced in the event since it began in 1970. His four world titles set him apart from most predecessors, with only Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet and Jack Brabham holding a comparable number of championships. Lauda remains the sole F1 world champion to have won the race, taking victory in 1973.
