Meta workers have begun circulating flyers at US offices to protest a company program that tracks their mouse movements and keystrokes. The initiative aims to train AI models but has sparked concerns among employees about surveillance and job security.
The protests follow an announcement last month that Meta would install tracking software on employees' computers as part of the Agent Transformation Accelerator program. The effort collects data on mouse movements, clicks, and keystrokes to help develop AI agents capable of performing complex computing tasks. Company spokesperson Andy Stone said the data would be tightly controlled and that employees' daily work provides valuable examples for the models.
