East Nusa Tenggara police have begun investigating reports of intimidation experienced by Dr Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenomi or Dr Icha. The case was reported by the late doctor's family and is being handled by Ditres PPA and PPO.
Kombes Pol. Henry Novika Chandra stated that the family's report was received through SPKT Polda NTT on Saturday. The investigation is being conducted professionally and objectively based on legal facts.
Dr Icha was allegedly intimidated by three individuals claiming to be DPRD members from Timor Tengah Utara Regency after treating a snakebite patient at the IGD of RS Leona Kefamenanu on 14 June 2026. The patient's family demanded anti-venom even though the condition was in the local phase.
Dr Tri Maharani, whom Dr Icha consulted on 13 June 2026, confirmed that the serum was not needed in that phase due to the risk of anaphylactic shock. Polda NTT urged the public to provide information to assist the investigation.
