Parents bring children to the office to shield them from the heatwave

During heatwave episodes, some parents opt to bring their children to work instead of leaving them in overheated daycare centers.

In Paris’s ninth arrondissement, graphic designer Fabio brought his nine-year-old son Marc to the air-conditioned open-plan office of his communications company for the second consecutive day.

The boy spent the morning redecorating newspaper pages and drawing Space Invaders. At noon he ate a sandwich at his desk because his father had too much work to go out for lunch.

Marc says he is happier at the office than at daycare, even if he gets a little bored at times. His father notes that the child is starting to recognize colleagues and enjoys the cool environment.
