Patek Philippe introduces Cubitus perpetual calendar skeleton ref. 5840P

Patek Philippe has unveiled the Cubitus Perpetual Calendar Skeleton ref. 5840P-001 at Watches and Wonders 2026. The new model features a 45mm by 10mm platinum case and a square-shaped skeletonized movement. It marks the collection's first grand complication.

Patek Philippe expanded its Cubitus collection, launched in late 2024 with a square case design featuring rounded corners and an integrated sporty aesthetic, by introducing the Perpetual Calendar Skeleton ref. 5840P-001. The initial models offered time-and-date functions, followed by smaller precious metal versions in 2025. This latest addition brings a grand complication tailored to the square format, with a fully skeletonized perpetual calendar movement called caliber 28-28 Q SQU, derived from the 240 Q architecture and comprising 313 components. The movement uses a 48-month cam system for automatic adjustments and includes a large single-moon display that rotates every 29.53 days, using layered mineral glass disks for depth. The 45mm by 10mm platinum case employs two-part construction with lateral lugs, alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes, and a baguette-cut diamond at 6 o'clock. The openworked dial features blue PVD-treated strips, white gold hour markers, luminescent baton hands, and additional indicators for date, day, month, leap year, and moon phases. The watch comes on a navy-blue Cordura strap with cream stitching and a platinum folding clasp engraved for the Cubitus collection. It retails for €176,700, US$187,547, or CHF 150,000.
