Officers from the Neiva Metropolitan Police captured two women known as alias ‘Heidy’ and ‘Wendy’, suspected of selling small quantities of drugs in the city's comuna 9. The operation, following months of investigation, involved raids in the Villa Nazareth neighborhood and the seizure of drugs and cash.
The Criminal Investigation Section (Sijín) of the Neiva Metropolitan Police (Menev) conducted a months-long investigation that gathered enough evidence to secure search and arrest warrants against the two women.
“Gracias a un proceso investigativo se logró la recolección de material probatorio suficiente que permitió la expedición de órdenes de allanamiento y captura contra dos mujeres conocidas como ‘Heidy’ y ‘Wendy’”, said Colonel Héctor Jairo Betancourt Rojas, commander of Menev.
The colonel stated that the women were the “dinamizadoras” of drug sales in comuna 9, impacting public safety. In Barrio Villa Nazareth, authorities seized about 1,000 grams of marijuana, 60 grams of cocaine, a scale, and 500,000 pesos in cash, allegedly from illicit activities.
Alias ‘Heidy’ and ‘Wendy’ have prior judicial records for drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession. “Este resultado es producto del trabajo articulado entre nuestras unidades investigativas y la Fiscalía, permitiendo afectar estructuras dedicadas al microtráfico”, the officer added, reaffirming commitment to security in Neiva.
