The viral video has sparked public outrage, with the Governor and Deputy Governor of West Java urging law enforcement action. The perpetrator has apologized and admitted being influenced by alcohol.
The case originated from a livestream by Adimas Firdaus, known as Resbob, on December 11, 2025. While driving and answering a follower's question from Bandung, he uttered harsh words against Persib Bandung supporters, particularly the Viking community, and made racist insults toward the Sunda ethnic group. The short video quickly spread on social media, igniting strong reactions from West Java residents.
West Java Police promptly responded by profiling the perpetrator's account and receiving public complaints to bolster the legal process. "We have profiled the hate speech account against Viking and West Java residents and are conducting an investigation," said Head of Public Relations for West Java Police, Commissioner Pol Hendra Rochmawan, on December 12, 2025. The reports also strengthen victim testimonies.
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi confirmed the case is under legal proceedings based on reports from Persib supporters' representatives. "It's in the legal process. It has been reported; let the law handle it," he stated. He expressed regret over the incident and urged the public to remain wise, avoiding prolonged anger. "Don't dirty our mouths and hands again," Dedi advised.
Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan condemned the remarks as divisive SARA speech. "I request the police to immediately arrest the perpetrator and provide a deterrent effect so such incidents do not recur," he said on December 11, 2025. He called on the public to stay calm and avoid retaliation. The perpetrator has publicly apologized and admitted being influenced by alcohol, though the legal process continues.
