A report circulated by the conservative-leaning American Accountability Foundation says the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers directed the vast majority of its reported political contributions to Democrats between 2017 and 2024, and also flagged union spending it described as excessive. The union’s 2024 endorsements and public statements by its president show the organization has aligned itself with Democratic candidates at the national level, even as many union members nationally have supported Republicans in recent elections.
The American Accountability Foundation (AAF) said it reviewed federal labor-union filings and concluded that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) spent $222,000 on political spending from 2017 through 2024, with none of that total going to Republican groups. (dailywire.com)
