The South African mission in Algeria confirmed it is in touch with Mokwena and providing consular assistance. Mokwena recently parted ways with MC Alger, the Algerian champions, just eight months into his contract. He is linking up with Al-Ittihad SC in Libya, reuniting with compatriot and former player Thembinkosi Lorch. The deal makes him one of Africa's highest-paid club coaches.
