SS Rajamouli to present Baahubali animated film at Annecy

SS Rajamouli is set to attend the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Thursday for a work-in-progress presentation of the animated feature Baahubali: The Eternal War.

The Indian director, known for RRR, serves as a producer on the CGI animated spin-off from the Baahubali franchise. The project is led by Arka Mediaworks and follows the story of murdered Prince Baahubali in the afterlife amid an eternal war across 14 realms.

Ishan Shukla directs from a screenplay by Scott Mosier. Rajamouli will join the panel alongside producer Shobu Yarlagadda, art director Ajey Lele, co-writer Sowmya Sharma, animation director Antoine Charryron and CG supervisor Simon Brown.

The Annecy appearance marks the start of Rajamouli's European summer schedule. It includes events at the French Cinematheque in Paris from June 26 and a special award at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland.

Baahubali: The Eternal War is slated for a 2027 theatrical release. Rajamouli is currently shooting the live-action film Varanasi, which is set for release on April 7, 2027.
