Publisher Bruner House has removed Star Trek: Resurgence from sale on Steam after its distribution license ended. The game, developed by former Telltale staff at Dramatic Labs, remains available on the Epic Games Store. Existing Steam owners can still access it in their libraries.
Star Trek: Resurgence, a narrative adventure game set in the Star Trek: The Next Generation era, launched in 2023 on Epic Games Store with a year of exclusivity. Dramatic Labs, formed by over 20 ex-Telltale developers, brought the title to Steam in 2024, where it earned 89% positive reviews and sales between 50,000 and 100,000 copies despite being a year old at the time. Bruner House posted a brief notice on the Steam page stating, “Our license to distribute Star Trek: Resurgence has come to an end, so the game will no longer be offered for sale. Existing customers can continue to access the game via their Steam library.” The message ended with “Thanks to everyone who was able to enjoy the game! LLAP!”—a nod to the Vulcan salute, live long and prosper. The license agreement with Paramount appears to have lasted three years without extension, unlike older Star Trek titles still available. As of the latest update, the game is no longer purchasable on Steam but can still be bought on Epic for $25. Dramatic Labs has been contacted for details on the licensing terms for smaller studios.
