PT Pos Indonesia continues distributing Temporary Direct Cash Assistance for People's Welfare in disaster-hit areas of Aceh Timur, Langsa, and Aceh Tamiang despite infrastructure challenges. Meanwhile, Bank Mandiri collaborates with other state firms to build 600 temporary housing units in Aceh Tamiang, inspected by President Prabowo Subianto on January 1, 2026.
Floods and landslides that struck Sumatra, particularly Aceh, at the end of 2025 have left severe impacts in Aceh Timur, Langsa, and Aceh Tamiang. PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) ensures the distribution of BLTS Kesra continues. In Langsa City, the post office remains active despite the recent chest-high floods and landslides. Executive Manager of Langsa Post Office, Aulia Arham, stated that distribution uses various methods, including direct delivery to affected residents' homes.
"We distribute BLTS Kesra in Langsa City through various methods, either at the post office or directly to the locations of residents affected by floods and landslides. The total for stage one is 42,000 recipients, with 11,000 in Langsa City, 22,000 in Aceh Timur, and 10,000 in Aceh Tamiang," Aulia said on January 2, 2026.
Additional data includes 7,000 latest recipients, with 1,300 in Langsa, 3,000 in Aceh Timur, and 2,000 in Tamiang. The main challenge was power outages and internet disruptions initially, so Pos staff conducted door-to-door deliveries for the elderly, disabled, and vulnerable families. Recipient Asnawati from Langsa Timur said, "Praise be to God, our journey from Langsa Timur to the office went smoothly. The funds I received will be used to repair the house and pay electricity bills," where floods in her area reached one meter.
In Aceh Timur, services are centered at Idi Rayeuk Post Office, with direct deliveries to homes. Meanwhile, recovery efforts involve other state-owned enterprises through the BUMN Peduli program. Bank Mandiri participates in building Huntara in Aceh Tamiang, coordinated by Danantara Indonesia and BP BUMN. President Prabowo Subianto inspected the site on Thursday, January 1, 2026, accompanied by Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani and COO Dony Oskaria.
"Danantara Indonesia proves we can build 600 housing units; all parties have worked brilliantly and quickly," President Prabowo said. Rosan Roeslani emphasized the BUMNs' commitment to working swiftly in tough conditions to provide decent housing. Bank Mandiri's Director of Treasury & International Banking, Ari Rizaldi, stated that cross-BUMN synergy is key to rapid recovery, targeting 15,000 Huntara units in the next three months.
Each Huntara unit is modular, equipped with two beds, wardrobe, fan, electricity, free Wi-Fi, communal bathrooms, health clinic, and playground. Bank Mandiri also deployed 20 volunteers for support in Gayo Lues and other Aceh areas, including logistics, basic health, temporary education, and psychosocial assistance.
