Vocal ensemble Raíces to represent Valle at Mono Núñez Festival

The Ensemble Vocal Raíces from Escuela de Música Desepaz will compete in the semifinals of the 52nd Festival Mono Núñez on June 26.

The Ensemble Vocal Raíces, directed by maestro César González, consists of students and graduates from Escuela de Música Desepaz in Cali. The group advanced through regional auditions and will present its proposal on June 26 at 8:00 p.m. in the Coliseo Gerardo Arellano.

It will be accompanied by Guillermo Quiceno on piano and Duberney Betancourt on tiple. Its repertoire draws from Andean Colombian musical traditions.

The qualification marks an achievement for the institution's training process, which aims to preserve musical expressions from southwestern Colombia. The performance will take place alongside groups from other regions of the country.
