The Iquique Guarantee Court imposed a national travel ban on the woman who confronted President José Antonio Kast in Villarrica. She was charged with fraud involving the fake sale of cell phones.
The court set a 60-day investigation period and scheduled a new hearing for August 27 at 10:00 a.m. The woman was released under the condition of a national travel ban.
The events took place during a presidential activity in Villarrica, in the La Araucanía Region, where land titles were being delivered to Mapuche families. A child refused to greet Kast and the mother intervened in the discussion.
After the episode, Carabineros conducted an identity check on the woman. It was found that she had pending arrest warrants for fraud cases. According to the records, she and another person simulated selling cell phones via social media for 330,000 pesos.
The victim deposited 250,000 pesos and then 80,000 pesos, but never received the device. The formalization took place this Saturday in Iquique for alleged fraudulent sales through social networks.
