Zamfara police repel bandits' attack and rescue 25 victims

On November 21, 2025, at approximately 21:45 hours, a large group of armed bandits attacked Kuraje village in the Damba area of Gusau Local Government Area, Zamfara State. The assailants, wielding dangerous weapons and firing sporadically, abducted 10 women and 15 of their children, all residents of the community.

Upon receiving a distress call, a joint team from the Damba Division police, the Department of Operations in Gusau, and the state's Community Protection Guards mobilized swiftly to the scene. They pursued the fleeing bandits and engaged them in a coordinated firefight. Thanks to the operatives' professionalism and quick response, all 25 victims were rescued unhurt.

The rescued individuals were relocated to Sabongari Damba for safety and profiling before being reunited with their families. Zamfara State Police spokesman DSP Yazid Abubakar detailed the operation in a statement, emphasizing the coordinated effort that led to the successful outcome.
